Remember way back when Dr Laura was about to get a TV show (which later bombed spectacularly)? Gay rights activists were protesting her show and trying to get local TV stations and advertisers to drop her. This prompted fundamentalist hate organizations like the American Family Association to rant and rave that activists were trying to deny Ms Schlessinger free speech.

Now the AFA is engaged in doing the same thing in Colorado. The Colorado Springs Independent newspaper is battling a boycott instigated by these fundies. The boycott has resulted in a number of stores refusing to carry the free paper and in advertisers dropping it.

Of course stores are well within their rights to not carry a free paper, and advertisers are free to choose where they spend their money. Nobody is guaranteed a space to exercise his free speech. But that's not the point here. The point is that the AFA previously ranted and raved about gay rights activists doing exactly what they themselves are doing now.
