UPDATE #1: FARK is back, but SA and W1000 are still offline. The story we're hearing now is that W1000 went down for maintenence, SA just sucks, and FARK killed their web server as a prank. Ha ha.

Something has happened to our friends at FARK along with SomethingAwful and worth1000.com. It isn't clear what's happened, but the rumor mill indicates that it may have something to do with the fact that all 3 sites ran photoshopping contests, so it could be a DMCA-style copyright issue.

Could be.

I emphasize that this is all just rumor and innuendo at this point. The only fact we have is that SomethingAwful and Worth1000 are blackholes, and FARK is refusing all connections. This could mean that the SomethingAwful and Worth1000 machines have been taken off the net, and that something unknown has happened to FARK (perhaps a load balancer or something is causing the refused connections because it has nowhere to send requests).

Remember: this is just rumor. I suspect we will find out all the true details in the coming hours.
