Foot & mouth disease is a terrible disorder for an animal to contract, and leads to a slow and painful death.

So you'd expect that an "animal rights" organization would be compassionate and caring about animals and not wish ill upon them, especially not to get the disease.

And you'd be right, if that group were any other group than PETA.

PETA co-founder and president, Ingrid Newkirk, said she hopes it comes here, infecting millions more animals:

I openly hope that it comes here. It will bring economic harm only for those who profit from giving people heart attacks and giving animals a concentration camp-like existence. It would be good for animals, good for human health and good for the environment.

If someone can explain to me how contracting a fatal and painful disease is good for animals, please send me feedback.
