PETA sees dead people. PETA wants to see dead animals. PETA will pay $10,000 to see them on Al-Jazeera.

Boy, whenever I'm looking for entertainment, PETA comes through. In their latest voyage into insanity (and beyond), they have complained to Al-Jazeera (an Arab news network, someone can supply the specifics in comments if they want). The complaint is that they are only showing bloody HUMAN bodies, not bloody animal bodies.

So, they have offered Al-Jazeera "$10,000 to run a 30-second commercial, showing goats being killed and cows hanging upside down in a slaughterhouse." So far Al-Jazeera has refused, but that could change at any time.

So people for the ethical treatment of animals WANT to see bloody animal carcasses? This idea chills me...

First of all, they don't WANT to see the bloody carcasses. They want other people to see them. To let people know that livestock are being killed, too.

However, I can't begin to grasp their angle on it. The human bodies are being shown as a result of war. It's not like PETA wants people to see doggies and kittens blown to bits from attacking soldiers--they want to see boring old common cows hanging in slaughter houses. Something that'll happen in times of war and peace alike. So it's kinda silly. It's not a very good comparison to war casualties.

I just gotta say tho, for as quiet as PETA actually is (they're just like a fly buzzing around a few feet away from your ear, never actually biting anyone), a lot of people, including on this site, really seem to get off by making fun of them.

I mean, what's the point? It's so miniscule. Are you really THAT bitter about something that you'll lunge at even the most insignificant target for critique? Sure, this is morons.org, but ugh, you guys seem to get more caught up in PETA than ya do in Phelps articles.

Jesus. Today is the day I fight no more for PETA forever.

You just know some nut at the TV station would be willing to take the 10k to kill a bunch of animals and hijack the signal for 30 seconds.

On the other hand, I still believe that most of you hate PETA because it disturbs you that people are willing to go to the same extreme for animals that some people will go to for humans.

They want fucking compassion and attention why the hell are they not mentioning the Baghdad Zoo. Or using that money to get them animals food.

Hell those animals are starving why not save us some money and feed themselves to the lions.

It would appear that these lunatics wouldn't give a damn about the hundreds of civilians that were killed or wound up injured in some primative hospital lying in some "Baghdad E.R." with their limbs cut off moaning in searing pain! It's a fucking war over there, the Iraqi nation is in transitional chaos and PETA(the anti-human supremacist league) is concerned about fucking dead animals and would pay 10 grand to see them on tape?
