Did this slip by everyone? I searched this site using various terms and combinations, but couldn't find anything. Both articles are from November 1, 2002, though one of them appeared in the Los Angeles Times a few days before.

Apparently, Donald Rumsfeld has decided to go completely insane and provoke the terrorists into action in order to draw them into the open. That's 'action', as in the various acts we've all heard about recently-- bombings, grenades, artillery, ambushes, etc. Actions where people are killed. The people being killed are the terrorist's enemies, which is to say, Americans (for the most part). So Rumsfeld's plan to combat terrorism is to cause it.

The other article highlights the first one and talks about the implications of the programs and organizations that Rumsfeld's creating and handling.

There's not much I can say about this, except that Rumsfeld is now definitely the most evil man in America. And this story's 10 months old-- imagine where it's progressed to now?
