A terrorist organization in Spain claiming to have ties to al-Qaeda said they hope Bush wins re-election.

The main topic of the story is that the group is calling for Spain to pull out of Iraq, saying that they will stop their attacks to see what the new party in power will do.

Farther down the article, however, they quote another statement from the group, this one saying they hope Bush wins re-election. Their reasoning is because, "it was not possible to find a leader 'more foolish than you (Bush), who deals with matters by force rather than with wisdom.'"

It continues:

"Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilization."

"Because of this we desire you (Bush) to be elected."

You know we're in trouble when a terrorist group is flat-out saying they hope Bush will win because he's a moron. I'd love to hear the neo-con rationalization for this one.

In other words, Bush makes it very easy for the citizens of the Middle East to hate America, whereas Kerry would set a good example and would make the citizens of the Middle East like America and want to emulate it more. This comes directly from the terrorists against whom Bush has been fighting and, in doing so, proclaiming to be the God-given champion of justice who will make the entire Middle East love America.

God, I hope this gets mass national publicity in the United States. I'm not going to hold my breath, however.

Hmm...how's about this for an approximation at a neo-con rationalization:

The terrorists claim to want Bush to be elected. However, their trade is subterfuge; if they openly say they want someone because the other guy will make their fight harder, it's because they know the reaction to their announcement will *cause* the other guy to get elected. Therefore, if they claim to want Bush to be elected because he's stupid, what they really mean is that they want Kerry to be elected because he's soft.

Of course they back the Bush Regieme, those fascist mothers have been bankrolling these suckers since the days of Poppy Bush running the CIA. They don't want their gravy train to go up in smoke.

That being said, Kerry wasn't tough enough to bring the whole sharade down in the 80s after Iran-Contra, so he's not to be trusted, either.

Well to be fair, North Korea has basically come out in support of Kerry, going as far as giving favorable commentary to his speeches. This certainly isn't an endorsement anyone would want, a brutal dictatorship giving its thumbs up.

Personally I hope the American people are not swayed by either the North Koreans or the terrorist group with Al-Qaida, foreign groups should have no influence in American elections, instead it is all up to us (the American people). I am not letting this influence any choice I make.

Besides this group doesn't sound they like Kerry that much but simply feel his administration will just be more cunning about "wrecking Islamic civilization", but they will see us in the same way no matter who wins, as infidels to be killed or converted.

Wow. What a slap in the face. Bush has been fighting these guys for 3 years now, and now they say they want him elected? That's like saying "We know how much trouble you can cause us. We don't know how much trouble Kerry can cause us, but we think it's going to be more trouble than you've been." Which basically means Bush's entire war on terror has been ineffectual. So much for "shock and awe."

As for the neo-con rationalization:

"They're a bunch of uneducated towel-heads. They obviously don't have the wisdom to understand what we're doing, and thus they obviously must be killed."

This was shown on the Daily Show last night and I had to laugh. Cheney was giving a speech about the successes in the war on terrorism and Iraq when the Hotel bombing happened and OMG... FOX news showed a split screen of Cheney's speech talking about how the Iraqi people are safer as the streets rained fire and the chaos was ll broadcast live on the other side of the screen. It was great ( not the violence and death, just the irony) and especially b/c it was on FOX, you'd think they would have done it different.

Technogeek: Yeah, that was one of those "wow just wow" moments.
