I hate to break the news to all our readers who appreciate the female figure. The FCC has rained on your parade as well. The Victoria's Secret fashion show which has aired on CBS for the past two years has been scrapped this year, in part because of the recent FCC "decency" rampage.

Victoria's Secret chief creative officer Ed Razek told the Wall Street Journal that about 25% of the decision to cancel the show was based on the recent FCC crackdown, saying "We had to make the decision probably six to eight weeks ago, when the heat was on the television networks" (after the huge flap over Janet Jackson's dirtypillows). If you wanted evidence that the FCC's recent actions have had a chilling effect on speech, you can add this story to the heap.

Other reasons cited include poor ratings and a desire to spend the $10 million used on the show on different promotions. Razek says Victoria's Secret could have gotten the show on the air despite the decency concerns if they'd really wanted to do it.
