First, there was the "Free Spech Zones." Next, there was the public humiliation and arrest of a man holding a sign that said "FUGW" (Figure it out yourself.) And now, The Progressive informs us of the next stage of Bush Fasicm: Public events for people who like Bush, and god forbid anyone who doesn't brown-nose the bozo enter. Woman in Black member Jan Oswald discusses her experience: "Everyone was being asked whether they supported the President, or were they registered Republicans, or would they put up a sign in their yard or a sticker in their car," However, when they got to the top of the line, the lady handing out tickets was more then happy to give them four.
Alas, it was all for naught, for on that fateful day when she and her friends went, she was on the list, but a security guard said, as she recalls, "You do not look like the kind of people who are here for the right reasons." She countered saying that she was an American, she had an ID, and a ticket, and she was going to see the President. The guard then said that it was a private affair and that they weren't welcome, and then ripped up their ticket.
They refused to allow a World war II veteran, a friend of a Republican Businessman, the coordinator of the local Dubuque Peace and Justice, and a Political Scientist student who was not allowed a ticket because of a comment he said about not supporting Bush, even though he did not support Kerry either. When he told his professor of his plight, he gave him a ticket of his own, but when he went back to the place, he gave them a ticket, but someone recognized him and kicked him out, not even letting him have his ticket back for his teacher.
Conservatives call themselves champions of morality and freedom. I believe Oscar Mayer doesn't even make bigger baloney. This even was billed as a "public event," and last I checked, a public event was something the entire public could attend, which sadly was not the case here. A once in a lifetime opportunity obliterated by bush, the insane conservative who can't take any form of criticism from anyone other then a god-loving, rich republican.
