Furious over Pat Robertson's recent "wrath of God" remark about Sharon, an Israeli government spokesperson has declared that Israel will no longer do business with Robertson. This decision could cost Robertson $50 million.

It was recently reported that evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson called Israel Prime Minister Sharon's stroke punishment from God for "dividing God's land".

It was also recently reported that Pat Robertson is head of a coalition to build a Christian theme park (or "Heritage Center" depending on whom you ask) in Israel.

Because of Robertson's remark about Sharon, that theme park is now in jeopardy. Israel was prepared to give Robertson's group the necessary land for free. Now, according to a spokesperson for the Israeli Tourism Minister, Israel will no longer be doing any business with Pat Robertson.

Perhaps Robertson will now learn the hard way to watch his mouth. I doubt it.

Pat's becoming the Howard Stern of evangelicism. He may find himself banished to pay radio too.

But this contreremps with Israel will not cost Pat 50 mil. That's the amount his fundie coalition is trying to raise to build a Xtian theme park.

I think it was here that someone recounted working on Robertson's security detail. This person stated that they never saw Pat with a bible in his hand, but always had a death grip on the Wall Street Journal. Money is all this vermon is interested in. Good for Israel for shoving Robertson's drivel right where it belongs. May Pat be struck by a garbage truck and dispatched directly to his "hell"

In the news report I heard they quoted his apology to Ariel Sharon's son and it sounded pretty eloquent and sincere. The guy's definately a skilled (if amoral) communicator, which is why he's dangerous.
