An editorial cartoon in the New York Post is not funny, not timely, and not in good taste. It's roughly as clever as the anti-gay pink gay shark cartoons from the Concerned "Women" for America of years ago.

The cartoon is apparently critical of former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey, now openly gay, though it isn't clear about what the cartoon is meant to be critical, other than perhaps the fact that McGreevey is gay. The cartoon McGreevey is wearing either a bra and panties or a two piece woman's swimsuit, a tiara and a "Miss New Jersey" sash... because gay people are apparently all cross-dressers and imagine themselves to be female.

In the cartoon, McGreevey has assembled a blackmail note that says "Resign or Else" as a police officer tells the apparently real Miss New Jersey, "you're probably being blackmailed by someone who sees themselves as the rightful Miss N.J."

It's hardly worth mentioning that the decidedly unfunny cartoonist, Sean Delonas is perpetuating an absurd anti-gay stereotype, and that Rupert Murdoch's paper is totally complacent in broadcasting it.

Of course the man would probably be fired for drawing a cartoon depicting a negative racial stereotype, but it's still in fashion to hate gay people... at least for the NY Post.
