Hmmm... I think I got my thunder stolen somewhere along the way.
I was all ready to make the announcement over in the original
article thread.
But no better person to steal it than Striking Scorpion who's
passion for the subject is truly awe inspiring.
I'd would really like to interrogate the mayor. I think one of a
couple things happened.
1) The mayor, perhaps along with some of the city council, threw
up the legal hoops, knowing full well they were bogus, to appease
not only the pro-life camps, but to appease some members within the
council itself. One alderman in particular was very vocally anti
PP. Having a third party rule on it takes the wind out of the
opposition's sails. The mayor can now say he did all he could.
2) The city council found itself in a position where it was
unsure about the allegations ~ legalities and felt it had to go
through an objective third party process to settle it properly for
all the concerned parties.
In either case, and as much as I hate to say it, PP having made
it through this grist mill victorious will strengthen their
position in the long run and help to shut some people up concerning
Aurora in the short run.
I'm actually glad that women in that area will now have better
access to birth control, testing, and basic female maintenance. I
personally don't believe that abortion has anything remotely to do
with health care in the general sense but that's just my own
opinion.
I'd go sit on a park bench and mull the days events over but the
Minnesota state wide smoking ban when into effect today, so I think
I'll just take a valium and go to bed.
