No big article or meaningful commentary here. Just want to get opinions on Obama's choice of a running mate.

Anybody surprised? Glad? Happy? Sad? Good choice? Bad choice?

How does it fly with Obama's "change" meme? Biden has been around longer than Jesus.

My opinion is that Joe Biden is a very smart and capable politician. At the same time, he's like the guy at the cocktail party who never shuts up and is prone to silence a room with a bad joke.

It doesn't help that he has stated Obama's not ready to be president and he has recently said he stands by his statement.

Joe Biden?

"You'll be meeting my gorgeous wife, she's got a doctorate degree, and that can be a problem... but seriously folks.. "

This election season has held one surprise after another.

I'm at best neutral, but the whole thing with these people having trashed him and said things that are very easily interpreted as "McCain would be better than Obama" is just irritating. Can't people think farther out than the next week? I imagine there is a way they could spin it where Biden *now* thinks that Obama is ready to lead, but I just don't really see it.

I actually like the idea of a vice president that isn't terribly agreeable with the president, it keeps the president on his toes.
